Looking at dropping my Verizon service and going straight talk. I may be able to use my existing phone so start price will be minimal. Comments?

I'm looking into the same thing. I'm just curious how their smart phones are. Verizon works pretty good. I don't want to spend the $ and end up with crappy phone/network. I don't know anybody using pay as you go smart phones.

I bought one back in the spring, had to return it. I had no service where I lived, i did at the end of the driveway but absolutely no service in my yard or home. They have a section on their website where you can type in your home address and it will tell you if service is available (found this after i bought it) and sure enough no service was listed. I would check that first.

My Co-worker has it and he loves it. Cool thing is, you can bring over your own phone if you want and just put in their sim card. They DO NOT have the best phones...but I look at it like this...lets say you want an iphone 5 (not the s), you can buy one unlocked for $500 or so....but the amount of money that you would save over 2 years would be far greater.

you can get Verizon network on straight talk, have to order the phone off of Wal-marts website, i have had it for over a year on an android based samsung, no issues, decent phone, good service at the house and previously I had to use Verizon just to have service so i was skeptical but it has worked out fine for us, my wife has one also, unlimted talk txt and calls, like 90 bucks a month for both and use auto deduct so we never forget to refill service, cheaper then just my previous contract phone was for just me

I have been using it for over 2 years. They piggyback off Verizon OR At&t, depending on what phone you use. CDMA or GSM type phones. (Sim card or no Sim card)

Ive had good service out of mine BUT I don't have a smart phone.Their customer service SUCKS ,not one of them speaks english as their native language.
