This story may be a little long but it still gives me chill bumps.

We have some long time family friends, Don and Willma Miller. Don passed away about a year ago. He was a great guy, a tremendous friend. Kinda like a secound Grandpaw and I mess him tremendously. The loss impacted my dad a lot worse as they had known each other for roughly 30 years!

Don Dad and myself were all big flea market / yard sellers. Atleast a couple times a month we would make tripps. I have lots of good memories from all the conversations, jokes etc. After Don's passing we pretty much stoped the tripps for a while.

About a year ago, me and Dad started meeting on Sunday mornings for breakfast and making fleamarket tripps again. Don's name comes up often, we still get a good chuckle out of those long running jokes.

I collect diecast, dad collects Avon bottles and old pottery. This morning I spoted a large table full of "old new" diecast. Typicaly whem I'm looking at that stuff dad will just roam around till I'm done. For some reason this morning he hung around and helped me look through them. I comented on the excettant condition, the ladies reply was "I used to shop with a friend, he passed away and I lost interest" my dads reply was "I can relate" and left it at that.

Here's the kicker, later today I started going through the cars I bought. Inside the box of the first car I bought ( which happened to be my favorite driver ) Was the original shipping receipt. It was shipped to the Florida address of a Don Miller!

What are the odds of that! Still givess me chill bumps. I called Dad and told him. We both were speachless.....

Yea cool story. Thats one that shouldn't be sold.

BTW, may I ask what pottery your dad collects? Like the names of the potter's?

Yeah, that ons is goin in the "NOT FOR SALE" pile for sure.

Dad collects Hoyle & McCoy, the old stuff that was made in the US. He also collects old glass ware, depression glass or stuff from that erra. His biggest collection is the old Avon bottles. He's got hundreds of those, all full and most in thier original boxes.

So was Don from Florida?
Same Don?

No, different Don, just same name.
