i'm take a guess.... turn signals, light on the license plate, active brake light.
Thats the easy part. What about getting title, inspection, insurance and tag?

You can buy it from a dealer and get a title then I guess its like a motorcycle.

Well as you all know NC doesn't give you a Title when you buy an ATV just a bill of sale. Well I'm from Montana and they do, also the ATV law there is you can ride it anywhere in the state just need a plate. So when you take your Title into the MT DMV to get the plate they actually put for the style, MV (Motor Vehicle) and that its street legal. So I brought the MT title to the DMV here in Fayetteville and started asking me questions and looking in there law book and said since the title states its street legal the would plate it as a MC, just need to show proof of insurance and have, Speedometer, Turn Signals, Horn, Head/Tail Lights, mirror, License Plate Light, and DOT approved tires.
It's all about finding the loop holes

Here is part of my old Title to show you what I mean.

Every cop in town will want to pull you over.

Yeah like he said, you're still going to be pulled over nonstop. Who gave you liability insurance on an off road only vin?

Iv been riding it this past week everywhere and Iv never been pulled over yet, I was filling up at a gas station and I had 2 come up and talk to me about it and ask me how I managed to get it street legal.

I have Geico and its full coverage. I only pay 250 a year.

gotta say thats awesome.....I've never ridden a quad like that how does it handle on the road? I remember in the old polaris 4 wheelers I used for hunting if you had to make any type of sharp turn on pavement you were instantly on two wheels.

It's pretty smooth since I have the Street Tires on it, still taking corners and curves at a faster speed you just have to lean into like you would on a MC, at least thats how it is on my Raptor but Idk about other ATV's.

But I'm riding up to Raleigh in a few mins I'll check this when I get back.

edited.

Didn't see in the pics where you have the mirrors, I found some for atv's at Gander Mtn. and Tractor supply if you need them.

How's that thing on the Highway and Interstate? Is it easy to keep up with traffic? I would think unless its capable of 120 mph top speed it would be kind of hard on the drivetrain for extended runs at 65+ mph. Im no atv expert so that might be a dumb question Idk.

That quad should easily pull 80mph stock. Swap some sprockets, etc and 100mph is achievable....Not that is would do much good.

Should easily run 100. I use to own a Yamaha Banshee that was clocked by a cop going over 110. He wouldn't give me the exact speed just told me to keep it off the road and to wear a helmet.

If I were a cop seeing you go 110 on a banshee without a helmet, instead of a ticket I'd give you a big organ donor sign to afix to the vehicle.

In the 80's I ran a buddies very fast, built Honda 250R 3 wheeler down a road that was gated off when Jordan Lake was built and it was a blast..........................until I entered a sweeping curve, and the Pinewoods @ about 70, and the pavement became completly covered in pineneedles  . It was about the closest I've ever come to death. I had all of 5 mins. of experience riding any trike and this one was a beast. Somehow I knew braking was not an option so I let off the gas gently/feathered it/ and drifted/slid/fishtailed to the outside sliding on the straw as the V ditch and very large pine trees went wizzing by maybe 10' from the edge of the pinestraw carpeted road and I somehow managed to make it around the curve. I looked at the tracks in the straw when I came back by and the right tire came 1/2way off the pavement edge and i'm pretty sure a lil bit more and i'd a gone in the ditch and been getting peeled off a pinetree. I never wanted to ride that thing again !! o_O that Raptor looks nasty and I've wondered how the fast 2wd 4wheelrs do on sand? It seems like it would be a blast at the beach w the right tires.

Dad had a Honda 185s back in the 80s that was tagged and street legal. We hauled it to the lake then used it to tow the boat back and fourth from the camp ground. We would also jump on it and head to grandmas which was only about 2 miles from our house...

I've always wondered why NC has such a problem w tagging such vehicles as motorcycles. Ive always wanted to get a mini truck to drive back and forth to work or just to put about in. I know a guy in Boone had one tagged but he said it was a real PITA to get tagged.

No I need to take the MSF class still. But I happen to be an MP on post and iv asked the chief about it and they said if NC registered it there wouldn't be an issue.

That's cool man. But I will tell you from decades of experience of riding on the streets on Nam be careful. They do not give a rats ass about people on the roads here. Let me know if the lady with the full dresser bike is still giving the classes on post. She could ride like I have never seen a female ride before.

82nd side or main post side of MP land ?

Also a quick heads up. Had a lady here in Hoke county do the same thing with her quad from NY and she was on the streets making a complete ass out of herself and HCSD told her to keep it off the street. They went to court but I moved from there before I found out the outcome. Hers had no exhaust though and her punk ass kids were on it all hours of the night. Main reason I moved. Come back from Asscrackistan to hear that shit all night in front of my house was never going to be a good thing. Now I live in the woods .
