I've got a 2000 Jeep Cherokee with 172, xxx on the 4.0. It delevoeeped a knock after the old oil pump I replaced was clogged. So rather than replacing or doing a simple rebuild.. I think I'll have a cheap stroker built if I'm going to have it rebuilt anyway. Whats the best way to go about this or best person to take the motor or jeep to to have it rebuilt. Im currently in savannah but travel into upstate sc and nc a good bit. And really dont mind where the shop is as long as its done correct for a fair price. If anyone has any ideas please let me know itd be greatly appreciated.

Newcomer Racing built a 4.6 stroker for me last year and I was happy with it. Im actually selling the buggy now and would consider selling the motor out of it if you are interested in it.

We built mine in my carport. I pulled a motor from a pick n pull for $125 for the crank and rods. Had to turn the crank at one shop. Then took the block and pistons and rods to a shop to be bored out and pistons pressed on. Took my head to a different shop too. it cost me right at $1700 in parts and machining for everything. it runs awesome and feels so strong. We have since started a Shop in jacksonville that can do it for you. if interested shoot me a message and i will get you the number

I say DO IT! Of all the mods and iterations to my jeep through the years, the stroker has been by far my favorite. I did a cheap stroker with 4.2L crank and rods, 0.030" over pistons, and stock everything else back in 2003. Still running strong.
