STROKER

Yep.

'00 TJ 4.0
87-91 4.2L crank and rods
.030" over pistons (H802CP I believe)
Stock cam/injectors, programming, exhaust, etc

5k lb Jeep on 35's with 5spd runs 10.6@63mph in the 1/8th mile, 17.0 at 76mph in the 1/4, and I practically never have to shift on the highway.

Built a 4.7L for a '91 Cherokee on 33"s. When you leave folks behind at stop lights you get all sorts of looks... What are you trying to do with it... street or trail? This thing could pull a 4500-5000 lb load at idle with no problem... Getting ready to build another one that is tuned a little better for my '97 XJ.

never built one myself but just sold my 4.2 crank and rods. I'll build one someday for the xj.

Here are a couple of sites and links to things that I used when building the first one..

also on yahoo.com there are groups that you can join here is the link to one that is dedicated to building these engines...

There are tons of amc and jeep guys building these engines, the only limit is the depth of your pockets. The main issue some guys have are the cams, but I am pretty sure its because the oil they run during "break in" and the spring rates for the valves don't match the cams they are running.
