Ok, I have a 1995 chevy and I'm fixing the A/C. I'm replacing the compressor, accumulator and orifice tube. Dumbass question coming......Where the hell is the orifice tube located?

inside the connection where the one hose joins the condenser at the front near the radiator. If you look you will see the one tube is a little fatter for 3-4".. Disconnect it there and it just slips right in/out..

Hmmm. So it's somewhere in the line from the condensor to the firewall. It just slips in at a connection somewhere then?

This would be right about in the spot described below.
iirc the 95 3500 i had it was right next to the battery on the pass side.
Awesome. I'll check tomorrow and see what's up. Thanks guys.

Ok, I've checked and I don't see anything there. There are no fittings or wide spots in the line fron the condensor to the firewall. Right at the firewall is the connection for what I assume is the evap core. Is there a possibility that the orifice is right at the connection at the firewall? I just don't want to start ripping into this thing all willy-nilly and take apart any connectors that don't need to be and possibly screw anything else up.

on a 96 and 98 (should be the same) its in the bottom line coming out of the condenser. remove the grille and it should be beside where the turn signal was.
