Looking at a new(er) car for the wife, and she wants a Baja. OK, makes sense..

I know the H4's have head gasket issues, but apparently the turbo's don't?

Any other problem areas? Haven't spent a lot of time around a Scooby since I was a kid.

DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THEM BUT I LIKE THE WAY THE BAJA LOOKS,IF YOU SQUINT YOUR EYES IT KINDA LOOKS LIKE A BRAT,GOOD LUCK RICH

Transfer case is weak, tires must be kept at same pressure and wear. Outback doesn't ride as nice as the regular suspensions.

And by the way, those of you who know her.. this will be a surprise.. so don't ruin it! :D

Hobie - define weak? it's basically a car for her. not gonna get wheeled, lifted, etc..

I've been looking at these also for the wife. The time is coming soon as I'm going to start dd'n her current ride. Share all the info you find out Rich.

Nah, they wear out due to normal driving. Mine and the ones I hear about were stocker DDs.

my experience.--- I have a '05 legacy non-wagon and traded an Accord for it. Ride is better and so is the maintenance cost. 62k now and have replaced the tires at 50k and A lightbulb. Non- turbo and no problems so far. Would get another tomorrow if need be. 87 octane and 33 mpg. GREAT car.

Welp, they didn't want to play ball.. They were asking $17,900 (KBB retail price) and I offered them $14,500 out the door, as it needed $500 of work, and that's about private party value.. I told them I wasn't playing the high/low game... they still came back with a whopping $500 off their asking price...

I'm surprised... figured the dealer would be much more motivated to sell. They'll probably call in a week.

They do have lil 3" baja suspension kits you can get for emm later on when shes moved to another DD if ya'll get one, haha.

I would love one as well, but as mentioned, I hear the TC's go out. There a ton of them in the mountains, theres a Subby shop off 40 near black mountain and I stopped in and asked them about them, they mentioned the gaskets and TC's are promblematic but overall pretty solid vehicles.

Well, we got it.. They finally played ball and came down on the price..

Her reaction was priceless...

I'm diggin it.

I don't want to hear anything else about how gay my liberty is.

You now have an even gayer car than I... :flipoff2:

you can wear your birks and tie-dye shirts while driving it to your next PETA meeting

subura outback = #1 lesbian car

Do you subscribe to that blog or something? :gay: The F-150 and JEEP WRANGLER were in that same top 10 list.. so suck it... :flipoff2:

Nope, I don't, it's the wife's car. And it has more power than your Liberty. Hell, I didn't even drive it home, I trailered it!

And yes, I am a member of PETA. People Eating Tasty Animals.

Congrats on the Subie purchase, I've had an 05 2.5RS since it was new. Of the 15 cars I've had its been the best overall, I've had faster cars and cars that handle better but non that do everything as well as the subie, they have a dedicated following for a reason :)

I've had a lot of fun with it

my girlfriend has an 01 outback wagon, she picked it up about 2 years ago, for about 5k. Its got about 62k on the ticker. No problems with it at all, its a great car. Gets awesome gas mileage, and is big enough to haul anything, that is reasonable enough to put inside a car. It helps that she got a really good deal on it too.

She wants to get the license plate "BIG BRAT"
