Superbowl commercials

Overall the commercials sucked this year,a lot like the game.

I have to totally agree! The game and commercials really were a let down. The half time show which I thought would suck was not half bad.

Per my title, I see no hijackin. I only saw about half the commercials and yea most were'nt up to par w the past few years IMO.

Yes, I am not a Manning fan. Oh, I liked the Tebow commercial.

The Doritos time machine made me laugh hard. The Cheerios one was good, and the VW wings commercial started out slow but ended up pretty awesome.

Was it just me or were a lot of the commercials confusing?!?!?!?! WTF was Bob Dylan's dumb ass commercial about?!?!?! In one breath he's saying only buy cars from the US because we make them and it supports the US, but go ahead and buy German Beer and Swiss watches because we obviously can't seem to get them right...

The Masterati ad hurt my brain it was so confusing. So we are talking about storms and natural disasters - wait, now we are talking about giants... now we wait until they are asleep and then strike - all narrated by a sweet little girl. Tug on the heart strings of pride in craftsmanship and a gut check for America. Then, cut to a foreign car that you can't pronounce, let alone afford, driving at breakneck speed. The Maserati Giblit? Isn't that a part of a turkey?!?!?!

The only good part about the Jaguar commercial was hearing them pronounce "Jag-U-Ar"

The Radio Shack ad was good for a chuckle or two, but the Oikos ad with John Stamos actually had me laughing.

I don't think Ford could have wasted more money on their first two commercials. Not only in production, but in length and the message was just plain stupid.

One more thing...... I think that it would be wise for Bud Light to stop paying their Creative team in product.... I think the only people that understood their Don Cheadle, Arnold Schwarzenegger, whoever-else-happened-to-be-standing-near-the-set-that-day ad were people who have already consumed WAY too much of their beverage.

The M&M ad was good.

Colbert's pistachio ads were kinda funny. At least they were short enough to get the message across without being ridiculous.

The Highlander ad with the Muppets was good, too.

Did the little snippet ads that had stuff on fire and people running ever make sense? I figure I missed the one that tied them all together when I used the bathroom or when Bruno Mars came on stage. I'm sorry, but the Red Hot Chili Peppers shouldn't play second fiddle to anyone....

The Chevy truck ad with the bull was funny - but it was a LONG way to go for a little funny. I thought the Squarespace ad was funny in a creepy weird sort of way.

I think the VW ad with the engineers getting wings could have been done MUCH shorter and got the same laugh.

I liked the Esurance ad after the Super Bowl. Pretty clever. The only reason I watched it, though, was that I stayed awake to see who was going to win the game... WHAT A NAIL BITER!!!!!! I was on the edge of my seat!!!!!

I saw the writing on the wall about the 2nd quarter but watched anyway in hopes of bein witness to some great comeback, should've went on to bed.

The Stamos yogurt commercial made me LOL.

I liked the Radio Shack one, just b/c of all the cool old school stuff.
Also made me think - are they just now realizing they are 2 decades behind? Or maybe... just maybe... this means they will go back to being a real electronics store? (yeah, right!)

Yes, a lot of really weird ads.

Here's the thing about a lot of them, and where many fall short. It's one thing to have a really catchy, funny ad that people remember. But you miss the boat if you don't remember the specific product being advertised.
Like the John Stamos yogurt ad - what kind of yogurt was that? I have no idea.

Oikos... but I'm an ad guy. My degree is in Advertising from Michigan State. Not that I've really been able to use it...

As far as Radio Shack goes, I was just having that conversation the other day about how Radio Shack has gone from a place where people that actually work on electronics can get parts to fix TV's and stuff with diodes, resistors, etc. to a big box style cell phone and toys store.

I kinda felt like Budweiser sent a mixed up message with their ads.... On the one hand, you have a truly heart-felt salute to "ONE" veteran coming home who is given a well-deserved parade and seats to the Super Bowl. Contrast that to the other 2 ads where they pick some random shmoe and treat him to a limo ride with a bunch of hot chicks and a DJ, him meeting Don Cheedle and a llama in an elevator and treat him to a table tennis match with Arnold then cutting away to a concert in his honor. Kind of takes the gravitas away from the veteran's service when you make such a big deal about the random shmoe's best night ever.

I though Bob Young's add for 109 u pull it was sad. But then again, I know him and knew his son.

I guess most folks didn't see this add because it was in a block of local adds.

Bob usually has a funny add with him singing about his pull a part place here on 109, but this year he wanted to Honor his recently deceased son.

So everybody cryed when Buds dog/horse commercial aired, but nobody will admit it?:D It was a success IMO, it made me want to go get a new puppy!!

Where was the The Most Interesting Mans commercial? did i miss it too? I was expecting another good one.

The Super Bowl has already come and gone?

^^^^ cool commercial, but if he thinks being an ambulance chaser is since kind of higher calling he is an idiot.

Note:
Not that some people don't deserve a settlement, but from my experience most that try and fight civilly are jest looking for money for nothing. When you have a couple hundred bucks in damage to your rear bumper and fall out if the car saying your neck hurts, everyone knows what's going on.

The Coke commercial where it starts out singing "America the Beautiful" in American then morphs into some "We are the World" BS group hug really pissed me off. I just looked at the wife and said "WTF" was that BS? Hey be proud of what you are but if you are going to sing "America the Beautiful" sing it in American. Don't hate, assimilate.

24. New Season. Didn't hear the beeps?

I agree that I thought the halftime show was good, but the Chili Peppers needed more time!

um, why, exactly?
Why can't people who are not from here or natively speak English sing about what a great country this is?
Its not like its the national anthem.

If a guy gets off the boat from Ukraine, happy as hell to be here and working like hell to make his place in our world - why shouldn't he sing about how much he loves it here? Not everybody grows up hearing English. You want them to learn it before even coming?

If it weren't for folks coming here from other countries... well we wouldn't have much of a country.

I for one like the commercial because it emphasizes what a diverse place this is.

(OK now yes I know, here comes the fight).

Who did'nt get choked up by the Budweiser add? ;)
I'll take those as a "yes I got choked up" :D
So everybody cryed when Buds dog/horse commercial aired, but nobody will admit it?:D

YES,YES, we all got choked up.

Outside of the powerstroke guys modding the IDM's I don't know of anybody doin anything with diodes and resisters these days. They use to be the highest place in town to get stuff.I haven't been in a RS in at least 20 years.
