I'm looking to swap my front dana 44 for a superduty 60. I've been looking at the 99-04 axles because of the aftermarket support and the fact they take regular drive slugs or flanges. Here lately I've been hearing alot of talk about the 05-current axles and the difference between the two. The biggest benefit I've found is the fact it comes from the factory with 35 spline stubs and I believe bigger ball joints but not too sure about the latter. The only downfall ive found was that I would be limited to drive flanges. I can find both pretty close in price, but the newer axle is a little more. Plus the stub shaft just looks funny.
My question is which one would be better and why?
