Who sells Superior Axle parts locally? The bearing in my AMC M20 sounds like its going bad, and I have about 1/4" of play. Superior told me I need p/n EV20KIT, and that will include a Timken bearing, seal and retainer disc. They suggested Quadrtec, who wanted $50/side. I emailed Superior again, and he gave me a mom/pop 4x4 shop in Wahsington state. He also said Superior machines the Timken race to fit this application; that's why I can't just get a set 9 bearing and use it.
So anyways, can anyone else hook me up cheaper locally?
Thanks, Tony

If you pull it apart, the bearing and race should both have part numbers stamped on them. Then you can take those part numbers to any place that sells bearings and they will either have them or can get them cheaper. Ive found Motion Industries to be pretty good to deal with, but there may not be one close to you. I strongly doubt that Superior actually does a machining process on the bearings. It would not be cost effective since Timken probably already makes a bearing the proper size. It is likely just a different part number and they don't want it getting out.

I second this (IIRC, Industrial Transmission is just across I-40 from you on Friendship Dr. right off of Cessna... I used to buy tons of stuff there & OBXfisherman used to work there too!). After finding the bearings, it seems you'll need to source the retainers & possibly seals... they can probably find these for you too.

Andy might be able to source the "kit" if you want to go that route also...
