I'm preparing to undertake a major restoration project beginning in January and I'm looking for body shops capable of duplicating factory primer/paint and have the utmost confidence in their abilities to work with aluminum and galvanized steel.

I will be looking for sample work and references.

I'm looking for the true artisans of the craft, cost is obviously important but quality is absolutely paramount.

I'm located in Charlotte NC, but more than willing to travel for the right shop.

Restro shop

Just a suggestion for your quest. You should tell people what vehicle you have. I do restro work on some vehicles but I am not as good with chevys as I am Fords and Jeeps. There are some shops out there that specialize in Toyota. I have done a few old FJ's but I don't think that I am a restro specialist for toyotas. I do think that there are few people that can touch me on m38s and older jeeps. If someone tells you they are pros at every vehicle I would be concerned, I have never met this person. It is good that you are doing you home work, and I will help you regardless of what shop you chose to do the work. Wilson

Vehicle is a Land Rover Defender.

All steel on truck body will be getting galvanized, new galvanized frame, etc...

Body panels are American 5253 Aluminum sheet metal also known as Bermabright,

How far north do you want to drive? Hiddenite? My brother in law has a 67 Camaro DZ and a 69 Charger in there now. I can shoot you his # if you would like. He has all the references and photos you need.
You will have to talk him into working on a Rover hippie:flipoff2:

But he will treat it like his first born as he does every job. Most anal dude I know.

Get in touch with Easy Steve on here....they do World Class P&B work but I do not know what their abilities are with different metals etc.

Yea shoot me his number, that's the kinda guy I'm looking for. Is he the kinda guy that if he had any reservations, he'd let me know?

Bumping this back to the top. I'm getting close to being ready for body and paint.

Again, must be confident with aluminum and galvanized steel work, as is what 99% of the work will be.
