Supersonic "car"

Not sure if any of you caught this on Slashdot, but the brits are planning a rocket/jet powered rig slated to best the Thrust SSC (current landspeed record holder @ 763MPH) and others.

Supersonic car targets 1000MPH

Since it'll take several years to build, that still leaves the door open for the (already built, currently being tested) North American Eagle to break the current record/holder... slated to bust 800MPH

My money is on the brits I hate to say. That old wingless F 104 is gon'na be squirrely unless that do some wind tunnel ground effect testing in my opinion.

Just bring back that old "blue flame" rocket thing!

I think it needs canards or the nose is going to lift at speed
