I know we have some anglers on here, so has anyone made a surf fishing cart to hold your rods, cooler, bucket etc.?

I thought about buying one but they are a little more pricey than I was hoping for, so I am thinking I can a PVC one cheaper. Let me know your thoughts or ideas.

I sold mine.

But I would say stick with a quality aluminum one. Stay away from the PVC ones.

Get big tires to help in soft sand, don't use bicycle tires.

Don't make it too big or you will over fill it and then can't pull it through the sand.

Make it fit a receiver hitch for easy transport.

I didn't use mine enough to justify it as I am usually driving on the beach when I surf fish. So, I parted ways and just throw all my gear in the truck.

I used one of the igloo cube coolers with handle and rollers and strapped my rods to the side. Always wanted to build a cart but I moved from Charleston years ago and never got a chance to.

I bought a cheap cart with pnumatic tires from northern, cut some pvc pipe and zip tied them in the corners for rod holders.

There was a similar post on those, around a year ago, maybe less. Turned out Big, with lots pics, & factory made to home made.
If someone has the time & knowledge to find it.

My plan was to make one out of a rascal scooter. Have that sucker drive it's self. But, stairs are the biggest obstacle I see.

I'm sure it's doable to build your own if you're not trying to bring the kitchen sink to the surf. An axle w 2 Fat tires set strategically under a frame to about balance a stuffed medium sized cooler, rods/rod holders maybe a few chairs, a sturdy handle/handles to drag it, a small table/bait cutting board w a beer/knife holder up high so you don't have to bend over to cut bait.............now I'm gonna have to make one :gitrdun:

For the cheap cost of even the nice mass produced carts that have everything you described, it will cost you at least twice what you can buy it for.

I've been sketchin some 1 1/2" PVC carts and I'm @ about $75/100 w/o wheels, tires and axle or comparable to a brand name alum. carts price.

We use one of these . Then we have rod holders run down the side. Screenshot_2016-02-04-05-44-51.png

^if I were to get another one, this would be my route.

I've had multiple carts and this would be my choice if I were to do it again. Plus, it's multi purpose.
