Were going to upgrade seats in the cj5 by the end of the year, the 280z buckets are a little beyond worn out. Suspension seats are the obvious choice since it is used offroad. We drive the jeep to the trials, but we find ourselves using the jeep for longer and longer trips also.

Having said all that, how comfortable are suspension style seats for the long haul? Im wanting to stay under 500 for a pair, from experience what are good options in that price range?

I really like the suspension seats in my montero. It was a factory option. It has and adjustable shock and a lock to make it a rigid seat. Something to think about.

Ive seen those befor and have riden in raiders/monteros with them. Definatly a comfy seat and would be an affordable option. But with the factory tool box under the passenger seat area, I dont have room for the seat base of the mitsu/dodge "bouncy" seat

Provided you get the right width for your body size...suspension seats are as comfy/more so than factory Cj seats for sho..

I have the Corbeau RS model, they are pretty comfy. If you don't need reclining style they'll be a little cheaper.
My only complaint about them is that the headrest isn't curved forward like most, so you really can't lean your head back on it unless you lean waaay back.
that said, it's perfect if you're wearing a helmet... unlike many where the helmet hits the headrest.

i think reclining option will be a must, the misses drives also and she is much shorter than me so need all the adjustabilty posible.... that and she sleeps on long trips:rolleyes:

I can get you 2 PRP's for 500 bucks. PRP's are one the best seating, most comfortable seats on the market from a daily driver stand point as well as aa race stand point. Corbeau's are crap to me after riding in PRP's and Corbeau's make my back hurt. I just gave Yager a smoking deal on some PRP's, hopefully he'll chime in with his thoughts on them.
