I'm currently in the market for a new suspension kit. The more I read, shop, and ask questions, the more indecisive I get. I want a smoother ride for my cj7 without comprimising the handling. So, I'm asking the pros with experience for reccomendations here... I need advice on which suspension kit to buy. Thanks in advance.

Depends what you want out of the lift.
Tire size?
pure on road, pure off road, or a mix? I've heard great things about the ome lifts for on road handling personally. Just remember when it comes to lifts you generally get what you pay for and if you cheap out you'll end up regretting the lift in the first place.

You want it to ride well on the road, and flex well off road?

Do (or have someone do) a Spring over conversion with stock height Wrangler springs, a shackle reverse up front, and invest in some good shocks.

I've got many compliments and I'm pretty happy with my Skyjacker Softride 4" springs and RS9000 shocks. No sway bar, poly bushings, new shackles, nothing special, but be sure you get Softride springs, I've heard the standard Skyjacker springs ride and flex like crap. Also consider mine are about 10 years old, I'd be surprised if what I bought is the same as what's offered now.

I'm currently running 33"x 12.5" tires, which I'm happy with. I'm looking for a mix for off and on road. I'd like to go with the 4" lift for the clearance, but I don't want to lose the handling if I can help it.

BDS

I heard/read quite alot on CJ to YJ springs. I believe the wider YJ springs give a better ride/better flex. More expensive for the initial conversion, but from reviews well worth it. Just need some CJ'ers to comment. Also, Rubicon Express (RE) or BDS for springs. Later, T.J.

BDS for the ride, and lifetime warranty. We do stock the YJ springs in 2", and 3 1/2", and the CJ springs in 2 1/2", and 4". PM me if I can help, Bob.

Taraflex fiberglass monospring.... but mostly lift kits is ones personal prefrence, it will be hard to find 2 people with the same opioin on a spefic setup

Shocks are always key in a decent ride. I read many places that the 'upgraded' nitro-whatever gas charged shocks actually rode stiffer than the standard hydro shocks. I don't know how true that is. My RS9000's have been set to on '3' (1-5 scale) and I havent touched them for years.
