Suzi Q samurai buggy build

Body has been rough for awhile so with the axle broke it's time to get started on making a few changes for strength and safety and to get her looking pretty again.

It has been awhile for updates I went wheeling few times since the last picture and about 4 months ago I decided i needed to address a few things. So I chopped off the back of the cage because it was twisted and also got rid of the rear 60 for a 14 bolt, also a larger fuel cell and made room for a cooler and action packer. It's not done yet but its back on the trail and it worked great this weekend at kairos

Had full intentions on stopping and introducing myself this weekend, but I came back off the trail and you were GONE (red 1st gen 4runner that KEPT riding by taking wife/kids to the bath house). Hate I missed getting to look at this thing close up - killer rig man!

I know the rig but didn't know who you were. We had covered the whole park by Saturday after lunch so we headed on out. Thanks for the compliments its been alot of work.

Agreed... your rig looked great. Sorry I didn't get to meet you. I was in the red yj (the ugly one). :D

After riding and feeling a strange knocking with no noise I pulled the front apart last night and found the welded carrier was broken and a couple teeth missing parts on the pinion.

A new spool, gearset and install kit ordered and on the way today.

Well 8 years ago this month I picked up the buggy from @MarsFab to finish it up and wheel it. 7 wheeling years later and I just dropped it back off with Chris to work his magic on some stuff I've been wanting to do but lack of creative talent and time have kept me from doing it. Can't wait to see what he comes up with.

He's got some work on other stuff before being able to start on mine but he will get to it.

And thanks man I'm glad there are some others that like it.

That looks good Aaron!!! That blower snout worried me without protection, I am diggin the way it hinges!!!
Thanks man I have been worried about it
since I put it in.

He made it hinge so that the original hood could also hinge up to make access quick and easy

Back in Sept 2021 I went to the yearly Chinquipin poker run. Early in the morning I was trying the V-notch, got real bound up and ended up destroying the carrier bearing mount and twisting the front driveshaft in half. I got it out of the way did some repairs and I was able to cruise around a little later that afternoon. I have some upgrades coming to make the drivetrain stronger and maybe the buggy will work better overall.
