Hey guys I was wondering if anyone had any input on swapping a 5.9 2003 durango motor and trans into a 2001 jeep tj. I have read threads in the past where this is a viable swap but the vehicles have been of the same year or the donor was of the same year or earlier latest 98. The motor and trans look to be solid (I am also swapping from manual to auto trans in this swap). But I am trying to find out if there are any compatibility issues with the swap as far as the ECM, wiring etc.
I plan to use my existing computer and wiring harness off my IL 6 and do the wiring. I plan on ditching the A/C as I never use it.
Is there anything additional I need to look for or plan for before making this swap? (I got all the basics regarding the engine, radiator, fuel rails, hoses etc). This jeep still is my daily driver so I need to pass inspection and i plan to have the ECM flashed to reflect my current VIN. I know there is some additional wiring that needs to occur, I just want to make sure there is no discrepancy between the years since the Durango is two years newer or if I am missing something in my planning.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
