Swapping XJ steering wheel?

My steering wheel in my 97 XJ is falling apart...How much trouble is it replacing it? It seems i researched it before and didn't look too fun...

ive been wanting to put an after market one on mine but cant find the part to adapt it.

The fun part is staring at the air bag inches away from your face thinking "that would really hurt". Even when I unhook the battery and unhook the sensor wire it still freaks me out a little to work on the steering wheel of mine.

That's because you won't see any adapters for steering wheels with airbags. Too much potential liability.
