Just added 3'' lift on 84 4runner...do i need to hook up front sway bar....i will and do drive on the road more than off but it will be going offroad almost every weekend......any help?
Thanks

I just measured my tacoma's flex with and with out the sway bar. i drove on a rock 16" tall on passenger tire. Difference with sway bar on and off was 1.5 inches more up travel on passengers tire (on rock). drivers front tire (on ground) had 3/4 inch more down travel. back tires were also 3/4 inch difference in making the truck more level. i could feel the difference in how much less the truck was leaning without the sway bar. oh and my truck still is IFS. It was a no brainer for me to leave the sway bar off so i took it completely off the truck. it is also my DD and i only wheel once a month. you will notice more body roll so handling is not as good. During my test a also looked at the axle angle. the passenger axle of tire on the rock was completely straight compared to the differential, but driver side was at a bad angle in the down travel. You will have more CV joint wear when wheeling off camber situations. Hope this helps!

Try it both ways on and off and see how much of a difference it makes to you. Your best improvement for the solid axle will be the crossover steering setup though. On my 85 before I added crossover steering when I got on the brakes it would pull hard to the left/right. Now it drives great even with 35x12.50's.
