I take my Daily Driver TJ off roading about twice a week. The sway bars are disconnecting all the time now (breaking the pins, somehow unscrewing the nuts and popping off, etc).

My question would be what are the disadvantages of just permanently disconnecting my sway bars?
I drive it on the road all the time as well, since it's my daily driver, so does it cause any accelerated wear if i remove them?

The sway bars keep your body from rolling too much while turning on the road. You need them IMO if you drive on the road. Sounds like you have the RE quick discos. I might suggest trying the JKS dicos and seeing if they hold up better.

Do you still have the rear connected?

If so, then take it down the road and see how you like it with out the front hooked up, This will give you an idea of how it is going to ride on the road. Like stated the sways do just what they say they keep the jeep from rolling to much in a corner. The issue would be if you ever had to dodge something it could be tough to maintain control of the jeep. I run mine with out fronts or rears and its not real fun to drive on the road. Of course mine is not a DD. So the 15 mins to the trail is not bad (All country roads). There is no way in hell I would drive down the interstate with out sways.

If unhooking is an issue look into a Anti Rock Way bar, you leave them connected when wheeling. So no need to disco.

I had a '97 TJ with 2.5" lift and no swaybars. I didn't really notice much difference. I also had no problems at 60-65 mph. I guess it depends on how you drive, and how much it will be on the highway. I could see an emergency highway speed lane changes maybe being hairy though.

i went to home depot and bought tralier pins and put those in place of the bolts of the sway bar connects save some money and they are tough, hard to break on the road but i would not do without my sway bar in the front i dont have one in the back tho

BDS Ultimate sway bar disconnects are awesome. No pins to lose.
