SYE for np207?

hey everyone, im in afghanland til next month but trying to get some info and cover last parts of stuff I need to build my xj when I get home. is there a sye for an np207? ive searched and can't find much on this transfercase. also will an np231 bolt up to replace my np207? any info would be greatly appreciated.

my rig is an 87 XJ Pioneer inline 6 and auto that came with factory rear d44.
 
A 21 spline 231 will bolt right in.
But, your 87 should have a 231 (a 242 if it has Select Trac). Only 87's that had 207's were early 87 YJ's. Early XJ's had them, but by 87 they would have been replaced by a 231.
 
Thanks Jody, yea I bought the jeep since ive been over here in the sandbox so I havent even been home to check which tc it was, just from little searching I did I assumed it was a 207, well thats awesome its a 231 does stinks its 21 instead of 23 spline. Thanks so much for the help and information, I can check off that on my list of what I need to get this rig underway upon my return.
