T-stat on 4.0?

What is the best place to hook up my aftermarket temp guage on my 89 Xj with 4.0

Get a 1991 and up 4.0 t stat housing and put it there (where the H.O. ECT sensor would go). Or you can remove the block drain plug on the drivers side of the block and put it there.
