I have a Jeep CJ5 with a 304, 3 speed, and dana 20. I plan on putting a t4 and dana 300 in.

My question is will I have to replace the clutch to match up with the shaft on the T4.

Also, is there anything else I should look out for when doing the swap.

I realize the T4 isn't the strongest transmission. For what I want and the money I want to spend I think I'll be fine.

Thanks for your help

no the spline count is the same on both input shafts.

Thanks

What about drive shafts will there be a major difference in the length of drive shafts compare to what is currently in my jeep,

True that they are both the same spline, but the difference in diameter will not work. get a new clutch.

3-speed "should" be a 10 tooth x 1-1/16" input shaft.
t-4 is a 10 tooth x 1-1/8" input shaft.

there may not be a "major" difference, but any difference at all will most likely mean new driveshafts. Just guessing, i would say shorter rear and longer front by about 1-2 inches (each way).
