I have a wooden shop table. I'm wanting to put a SS skin over it for non wood working. What thickness should I go for? Also wanting to make a 24"x12x3" Anyone here in the Charlotte area able to ribs in it?

That but around the perimeter

That's going to be some thin easy to beat up stainless or one heck of a bead roller.

Why stainless? Just corrosion resistance?

Yeah bead roller is what I was looking for. I want to make a rounded edge to keep things from rolling off. The table top is 1.5" thick hardwood. Solid heavy table probably weight 200lbs. The table is more for working on small engine type stuff.

And yeah SS for corrosion resistance
