hey i really wanna lift my taco but dont know wut would b best i really wanna SAS it but i know that takes money but u can easily lift it once u get it done and then comes the IFS with the only thing u can do for it is coil overs and spacers which would b easier and cheaper??
thanks
Coil spacers and add a leafs are the cheapest. All you need is rear shocks eventually and it will be around 3" of lift. A Body Lift will also help give an extra couple of inches.
Coil Overs are really nice but kinda expensive, but Old Man Emu has some for cheeper and they ride good. I am not a big fan of the drop down suspenion hangers that come on 6" IFS lifts.
I have some 3" cornfed spacers mounted on tacoma struts in the parts for sale section. http://www.nc4x4.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21653

If i had to do it over I would have gotten a cheap spacer lift, trail protection and bigger tires. Then wheel the crap out of it. Once you learn to drive offroad and feel you are ready for the SAS start saving and research.
If you know for sure that you will SAS just start buying little pieces here and there, stuff like steering box, shocks, oilpan.
I definitely would'nt sas right off the bat, youll end up with a truck thats more capable then you are as a driver.
I agree. Get a cheap spacer lift. I ran 35's with a Daystar spacer in the front, some lift springs/shackle in the rear, ran that for a long time. Then went to a SAS. Unless you have alot of money to blow on a SAS don't bother with anything other than a spacer lift. The OME coil/leaf setup would be the most I would spend on the IFS. Don't bother with the drop-bracket lifts (anything over 3").
I took my truck ALOT of places with the 35's and Daystar lift. Save the money, buy a cheap lift and sliders/bumpers, you will use sliders and a rear bumper no matter what kind of lift you have.
Their stuff is really nice and they dont charge a whole helluva lot. Customer service rocks from what I understand. I almost went with their 3" kit for my 3rd gen 4Runner
ok here listen to my setup that i was thinking about ok 3" coilovers and 2" spacers n the front and a 5"rear leaf kits from allpro and mayb a block and AAL with the leafs but idk i wanna c how it is with out it first wut do u think?
I have told you before, and will tell you again, you CANNOT go over 3" of lift on a factory frontend. The CV's and balljoints will not take the angles.
The ONLY way to get 5" suspension if either a drop bracket type lift, or SAS.
Sell it and buy a Chevy , and if you're wantin to be a real bad ass like me buy a Z71
But on a more serious note don't waste your money buyin a super expensive lift for IFS, its just a waste of money no quesitons asked, do what all the other yota guys are sayin get the spacer lift slap a body lift on top and wheel her for while, but yea body armour should be your next priority after lift and tires, also I would get a rear locker if you don't already have one.
