Tailgate Bike Pads?

Finally got back into a truck and am thinking about picking up a tailgate pad as a quick way to haul some bicycles. I have the big/heavy hitch mount I’ll keep for trips when the bed is full but seems like the pad would cause less damage than throwing multiple bikes in the back for a quick ride.
Anyone using one know if it makes a difference between name brands and Amazon specials, or any particular reason to not get one? @Jody Treadway , pretty sure I saw one on your truck when I was up that way, opinions?
Thanks

They're all the same (essentially)
I use a Yakima just because it was on sale.
Make one of these out of a spare 2x4 to secure the back tire when in transit.

If your truck has a backup camera, get one that works with it. Thats really the best advice i can give.

I personally have a Dakine and love it. Has straps to hold the bike in place too.

I was thinking about these too but wondered if it scratches the paint, and how quick or slow it is to put on and take off?

No scratches on mine. They have a super soft inner lining. They go on in about a minute with 3 straps under the tailgate.
Mine has a removeable cover where the tailgate handle is. When it's tucked in, the camera works too
