I thought i would ask here first, before using trial and error.

I have power windows and want to take off doors.
What do i do about wires? Anyone know of a way to make or buy a connector or something, for when i want to run doors again?

Looking for all the advice I can get, cause trial and error is for people with more patience than i have!

When I pulled mine off the WJ it was simple unbolt and unplug the wiring harness (quick connect type). No problems arose after putting em back on, back off, on, off, and on again

It was really kind of easy, except those doors weigh A WHOLE LOT.

Plasma cutter/die grinder/big hammer/winch etc.

On the front DS you can cut the bottom off the hinge and then it will act like the TJ/YJ style. Inside behind the kick panel is a quick connect type plug for the wires. I messed up and cut mine and added some male and female connectors. Works fine but now I have some squeaks from the seals now.

Are the squeaks from cutting the hinges? Thats a probably a dumb question, since cutting wires wont cause a squeak, right?

Can you do the same on all the other doors? Do they have disconnects also?

for the wires if you pull off the kick panel all of the wires for the windows and locks, and speaker already have conectors from the factory. Just unplug them and push them through. As for the door hinges you must cut of the bottom part of the hing. Some say the factory pin's will hold but mine broke so i drilled out the pins to accept a .98 cent long shank bolt from lowes and i cut off the treads and it works perfect, i can take pictures if you need them. and mine lift off like tj doors.

Yeah pics would be cool!

So front door, wire discos are behind kickplate, is there also discos for rear doors/where?

Im just asking cause its dark outside and im lazy, i could probably look tomarrow and see for myself, but post up pics if you will. Thanks

Ditto what Breett said about the connector.

Check this out.

sure its for a K5, but I mean come on (is that a good Ricky impression) its door tech not too specialized

The rear doors have a single plug as well. The front passenger side are a bear to get to, but doable. Also on the passenger side there are two more connectors to unplug once the door are removed that will shut off the dome and under-dash lights.
