Need to drill/tap my steering box for hydro assist. The box came out of a 78 Wagonner. I have a tapped/threaded Astro box. Am I correct in assuming I can drill/tap the waggy box in the same locations as the Astro box? See pic for reference. Astro box is top/waggy is bottom

It's still a Saginaw box, so the passage locations should be relatively the same. One goes in the pad inline with the casting seam, just as you have in your Astro box. The other will go directly below it, inline with a plug you should see on the end of the ear at the input end of the box.

Reading my description back to myself, that doesn't make much sense...but in short, yes - should be the same as your Astro box.

Snatched a pic from Pirate for reference. All Saginaw boxes can be tapped the same way.

As said, it is most likely in the same locations. Ideally, you pull the box apart and find the passages for the fluid coming from the servo. 1 will come from the end of the box/piston and the other into the front of the steering gear.

Tap them both as close to the servo as possible.
