ok, the taurus fan wiring has been beat to death, but this is sort of a different issue. I ran the fan install kinda different, with the low speed controlled by the PCM, and a hi override by manual switch in parallel with a thermostat switch on a transmission cooler. since I dont trust things and motors are expensive, I put a dash indicator light on the hot side of the low speed fan (post relay) so that when its on, the light is on (works fine). when the hi is on, its obvious (volts drop and its loud) so I didnt feel that I needed a light. so heres the deal. when the low is on, everything is as predicted. when hi is on, the damn light stays on. it gets its 12v from the high amperage (post relay) low line only, and grounded at the dash. the low and high circuits are mutually exclusive (either, but not both, through the second SPDT relay). is the low speed circuit generating a 'generator' effect when the fan is on high? I meter around 8v on the circuit during this phenonenah. when I test the relay with the low side disconnected and the hi on, there is in fact no voltage on the relay, but there is on the low power lead. does any of this make sense?? (codeine is awesome when youre passing stones like martin marietta).
