Couple of Noob Questions???

I've got a 92 Chevy 1500 4x4 with a TBI. Is it possible to switch it over to EFI? If so - is it expensive to do?

How would I find out if the truck has a 305 or a 350 motor?

TBI is fuel injection. What exactly are you looking for ? Should be cast in near the oil filter 5.0 or 5.7 or you can check the block #s stamped on a small pad near the water pump..

I'd like to be able to go out and turn the key and the truck will crank up without having to pump the gas before and gas it a little after it starts. Doesn't bother me so much as the wife......nothing like a woman driving a truck!

Tune that thing up. My 454 tbi cranks with just a bump of the starter and it has 160,000 miles.

My 1995 TBI fires right up too and it's got 240k on it.

Some things that will affect a TBI during start up.. Old/Weak fuel pump. Dirty injection system. Clean the TBI, wipe all the gunk that builds up in/around the injector pod area. Are your injectors spraying good or dripping? Dripping/leaking is a sign that you may need some new orings. Or possible just a basic TBI rebuild with new seals/orings etc. If your system leaks down over night, it will take a few seconds to reprime with fuel to start. Change fuel filter. TBI usually first in a second or 2.
