where do you suggest ? im looking for the best camp ground at tellico . theres about 15 to 20 of us going last weekend of july. trying to plan early because ive never been there before. thanks for tips and info.

i've always stayed at crawfords. nice sites with power/water, showers, nice shop available to use, within a few miles of trail 1, and a rock garden for in camp entertainment. steve is a hell of a nice guy also.

i don't even know if they're still open though, there was something going on about it being sold and closed, then it wasn't, then it was... i don't even know what ended up happening, i haven't been up there since all that.

i've heard state line is nice, and the cabins on trail 1. don't know about anywhere else.

Mike, it all depends on where you want to camp, and how primitive. Going in from Murphy you have the choice of hotels, Hanging Dog campground, which is about the furtherest away. It has water, and concrete out houses, close to the lake. Crawford's whitch is a couple miles past the entrance of trail one, Davis Creek road, has everything from primitive to full hook ups. Has fuel, showers and so on. Also a place for repairs should you need them,
Going in on trail 1 there are cabins and so on, but no public type places.
Going in through Robinsville and the scenic hwy, there are many camp sites available, both pay and free on a first come first served basis. The best thing about these are they are much closer to the trails.
