Ten Things That Will Disappear In Our Lifetime...

Number 5: We had a new house built two years ago and never had Ma Bell run a phone line to the house from the road.

We haven't had a land line in ten years. I didn't know that was still a thing.

USPS delivers Amazon now. We keep them busy as hell around here. That poor lady is unloading a pile of shit onto our carport at least twice a week.

9. Joined Handwriting (Cursive Writing)

Already gone in some schools who no longer teach "joined handwriting" because nearly everything is done now on computers or keyboards of some type (pun not intended), printing by hand will also disappear. No signatures for check will be needed because there will be no checks. Just use your password to confirm any purchases you make through the internet – everything is always secure in “the cloud”!
Yeah and that's a shame to.Jake is a smart kid, alot smarter than I was at 16 but he cant read cursive.they never taught it.Anytime there is something in cursive U have to read it to him.Anything involving the history of your family or the country will be lost if its written in cursive.
The first one won't happen for a while. The deal between Amazon and the USPS probably singlehandedly saved it, and then some..
We do our part in keeping USPS in business believe me/
The Truckers are playing two shows in Carrboro in March... who wants to go?
I saw last night where Unknown Hinson and Reverend Horton Heat are gonna be in Asheville the 31st.

Something else that's gonna be a thing of the past is the junk yard.I spend a lot of time in/around the yards and they all seem to agree that its on its way out.The old guys are dieing off or retiring and their family don't want anything to do w the business and w very few places issuing salvage permits its about impossible to start a new one.If I could have gotten a permit I would have had a yard 10 years ago.

I still prefer to go to the book store and browse thru the books and buy an actual hard copy. Besides carryin a book around helps my "Big Country Dude" ass not look so dumb and I need all the help I can get.

Musi is funny. My parents disliked my music. My grandparents disliked my parents music. It's a generational thing. If you weren't raised on it it sucks.

Does anyone get the eery feeling that auto parts stores may be in trouble? I've noticed a lot of them are falling under (Napa), and others are merging together like Advance/carquest. That would royally suck if car parts were only able to be purchased by dealers and shops.

One that will remain is Wagners in Durham. Established in the 40's and family owned since the 70's. My wife cleans a few of their houses and the offices of the business itself and tells me how much $ they got. They have made a fortune and will never give it up. Donald and Pat Wagner have like 5 houses across the US they vacate to. Every grandchild has a house paid for from the business sitting around it and they are still buying up land. But they treat every employee with huge respect. My mother-in-law still gets free parts / tires anytime since her husband worked there for like 20 years before he passed. I've rebuilt her Montero Sport from that place... :shaking:

I think the Jetsons "as some of us were kids back then" had us all thinking roads and tires were going to disappear.

I do feel the gasoline combustion engine has it's years numbered.
