I ran ole Nellie Belle and paced in the middle of the pack in A class. All below me didn't finish and broke. Those above me finnished the race yet were done. I finished and wheeled the rest of the weekend. This was kent and I 10 years ago.

After 10 years,I'm still wheeling my "race" rig.
Who else on here is still hanging in there with their race rig?

I don't think @RenegadeT Jeep has been driven since! Pretty sure UREcross was the death of his CJ7.

I didn't make it down there that day, but I sure remember the energy surrounding and leading up to that event.

Time sure does go by fast.

I see you've removed the race cage!

It would be cool to have a similar event again.

I’ll never forget the 33” swamper with about a foot of broken axle shaft chasing spectators down the hill at Kodak

Iirc...the only rollovers happened just a few yards off the starting line. I remember thinking wow! They were so excited to get off the line fast, that they wiped out into a ditch/hole in turn 1.

$30xj for the win!
OK, it didn't

But I still can't thank @Dylan W. enough for the opportunity and @catfishblues for the laughs that day.

I just reminded my wife about this, she just groaned and mumbled something about it being the beginning of the snowball
$30xj has a new home!

Still got mine. In some ways it was the death of it. A lot of work put in to it only to be stopped by a clutch fitting coming loose and keys falling out of the ignition.

@ord.sgt.26NC, we had to be towed back to the parking lot due to the front link mounts smashing the trans cooler lines, but a couple of hours on the gravel and a quick trip to M&M automotive up the road for fuel line and hose clamps, and we were back on the road! Wheeled a little and drove the baddest XJ you've ever seen back home! The only lasting damage was the Waggy power passenger seat that my fat ass destroyed! As we were bouncing through the woods I started to notice myself leaning farther and farther back. I figured it was just adjusting itself. Nope, I wrecked the mechanism under the seat.

my only damage was a rear C shaped spring shackle on the left side.Busted that sucka! Ran up to tractor supply and picked up a universal trailer spring shackle kit and rocked on. I still have that shackle in my parts box for those "just in case" moments. I also upgraded the rear shackles to M38A1/M170 style that are still C shaped but has a added bar to give it better crush resistance.

somebody had a video of us coming up at the turn towards Kodak...I heard somebody say watch out for that "whip". I was sporting a 102 inch ant. at that time and it was flinging all around. There was people duckin and a runnin to get out the way of that whip. That was some funny shit to me.

The passenger seat on my CJ was also destroyed during this race. Post race inspection, the serious gangsta lean was the first thing we noticed.
In the early ECORS days, I quickly found the stock XJ seats were not up to the task for off road racing.

That looks like it was a blast. Whatever happened with the ECORS? Why did it all come to an end, it seemed like it was going really good

Man. What a race and what a wild ass weekend.
Met a lot of you guys for the first time ten years ago. Some of yall still friends too! :flipoff2:
Here's a few pics I pulled out my album.
There are some badass videos buried on youtube too.

What a great time. I still can't believe that guy Sean aka blackangus talked the forest rangers into doing a race on Rocky mt loop.

Does anybody have a pic of that Subaru Wagon that ran A-class? Probably my 2nd favorite rig (After Nellie of course)
This was before the proliferation of GoPro cameras. A buddy lent me some kind of digit cam that was rectangular, kind of like a modern cell phone, so we cut a rectangular hole in the dash and duct taped it in. Lol.

Yep, we got lucky b/c the last 3rd of the course was all downhill. I could feel the trans slipping badly towards the end, just floored it and coasted down.
In the video on YouTube you can here somebody say, "The $30XJ just went bleeding past checkpoint...(something or other)".
We were actually entered to run in B class also but it took too long to get the line fixed and we missed the entry time.

one of the best in seat videos of the race.
This guy iirc got 9 or 10 minutes.
Still can't believe we had a winner at 8minutes and some change.
