Doing hard time

Don't have any in the house, but....
Just had an inspection done this morning. No signs of termites. But he did recommend re-treating the foundation (dig a trench outside the house, another inside the crawlspace, 6" deep, pour in termidor). He said that the in-ground treatment when they built lasts about 10 years. $5.50 per linear foot of foundation. $1200 to do the house and garage.
House is 12 years old, no treatment of any kind since then. We do have termites (like everybody) in the yard, etc (lay out a piece of wood, they'll start working on it.
One thing to add...we may be putting the house on the market in about 3 years...I am figuring that it is a selling point to have had the recent ground treatment (won't get the $$ back in the sale...but might help it sell quicker). Several houses within our subdivision (all built about the same time) have had major termite infestation/damage found in the past couple of years.
So...what would y'all do? Other options? (we have another pest guy coming today to look it over for a 2nd opinion/quote)
