About time to put some new tires on the tow pig and looking into the Kelly TSR Safaris, but I want to go up from stock 31s to either 33s or 35s. I'm finding mixed reviews online about which one will fit without a lift. Does anybody know of a tire shop that I could test fit new tires on to check for rubbing? Preferably in the Concord/Harrisburg/Kannapolis or Huntersville areas.

Good luck getting someone to fit test a new tire, never seen a shop willing to do it. I would find a good used tire and fit test with that, $50 or less might be worth it if you really want that tire size. Might try a vehicle specific forum, they can usually tell you what will and won't fit without a lift.

I figured it wouldn't be anything easy, just checking. I've tried searching the forums, I think since Ford put so many different stock wheels on the different trucks some people say you need a 2" leveling kit to fit 33s, others are saying they can fit 35s without a lift. Of course, nobody says exactly what tire/wheel they're running (I haven't looked into it in that much detail) to get the magical 35s on stock wheels with no lift.

Sorry, the tow rig in my sig...'00 F250 7.3l 4x4

Not sure it does you any good, but the stock 08-newer F250s with 20" wheels come with 275/65 tires which are over 34" tall actual height and 11" wide. You're welcome to come by my place and put my wheel/tire on your truck if you can't find anyone closer.

May take you up on this if one of the local tire shops can't help me out.

I had 35s on my 05 250 with no lift then 2.5" spacers and 1" block in the rear with newer ford 20s and 37s and they rubbed just a little bit on the control arm. The only reason i went back to 35s was 3.73 gears and 37s made for some terrible fuel mileage

05s have coils and control arms instead of leaf springs though.

I had some 305 tires on my 04 F350 FX4, bone stock and they fit. But, barely rubbed the back of the inner fender during turning and flexing.

I am about 30 min from concord, you are welcome to come by and put my 35 on and see. But I will say this, I have a 99 f250 with 4" lift and 1/4 spacers and it rubs the leaf spring..

we (Discount Tire) test fit tires quite often. stop by the closest store and ask.

or drive up and I'll do it at my store :D (chicago area)

May take you up on this...I'm from Badin, so I'm close by on a regular basis.

Found a local tire shop that said they have some take-offs they would test fit, planning on doing that first thing Saturday.
Chicago may be a little out of the way for me!

Went by Brothers Tire in Kannapolis. Todd mounted a brand new 295/75R16 and it rubs just a hair on the mudflap, so I'm going to step down to a 285/75R16 which is a hair under 33". Now I've just got to decide between the BFG T/A KO2s and the Kelly Safari TSRs...
