Ok so ive been looking for a new truck for a little while but nothing around here has really jumped out and bit me. About two months about a good buddy moved to texas and told about how diesel trucks are everywhere and cheap so i got to lookin online and for 25k there i can get a truck that would go for 33-35 here and i see alot of what i want and they look clean! Ive been lookin at this dealership http://www.northtexastruckstop.com/ . My question is has anybody bought a truck from texas and brought it back? And do i need to look for anything different than i would here?

look online for reviews..looks a lot like Midwest diesel trucks..nice diesels..cheap prices.. Bad reviews!

As was said, you'll probably get a free ranch hand bumper. Make sure it wasn't a oilfield or farm lease, if so it is going to be used up.

Yes, i bought a e450 down there. The price was cheep, but i know what i was getting into.. It had a the normally 6.0 ford BS. Now the troubles is have a good friend to help with it. He had it for a few weeks and i flew down with some repair parts, and drove it back...
And as they said, you do get a bumper front and rear.. And really long too...

Stay away from any state that has snow.

I was just down there and thinking the same thing.
Trucks were everywhere in San Antonio.
Haven't done any research but it donned on me too, this would be a supply/demand and lack of snow awesome economy for truck buying.
Fly down, buy and drive out.
Plus you get to look at some of those "Texas" special editions.

I just bought one and going to pick it up Thursday. 1 owner 7.3 6spd with 159k and picked it up for less than 10k with new tires, plane ticket and fuel for the ride home. I searched for months in this area and found nothing.

Greg Stone bought a Dodge from down there. I can't remember the name of the dealership now... but he got it about halfway home and realized it was puking oil out of the road draft tube. Called the place up, and they basically told him he could either bring it back or drive it home and they'd make it right. As I recall, they ended up paying Cummins of G'boro to rebuild the motor. So it worked out for him.

That was probably... five years ago, though.

4wd?

2wd. I haven't had 4x4 on a tow pig in years. Doesn't really pay for as much as i would use it. If I get stuck I've got a perfectly good jeep on the back to drag it out.
