Bad, subject to kinking, abrasion, slicing due to foreign objects (rocks etc)
I agree with above about using hard line and some short pieces of rubber as isolation. If done properly steel lines will last forever and not be a problem. Personally I use steel lines and stainless braided AN lines as my flex lines. Yes, extreme overkill, however I hate burning up a tranny due to no fluid in it after cutting a line.
