After a great time at The Farm on Saturday, I spent most of the day Sunday working on the Blazer and fixing a few nagging problems.
Getting out and watching really got the juices flowing and the itch burning.
So tonight I needed to haul the garbage to the dump, and figured it was a great excuse to roll the old hag out for a little chance to stretch her legs. Quick check under hood, oil good, anti-freeze good, blah, blah, blah.
As soon as I fired it up, both kids come running outside wanting to ride along. 2 minutes later kids are buckled in, trash is loaded and we are ready to roll.
I jump in start backing out and get nervous that the hood isn't latched all the way. (anyone with a mid 80s chevy knows what I mean) I jump back in shift to reverse and the brake pedal falls to the floor. A quick jam in park and all is well.
I just checked the MC and we had fluid, WTF???
A quick walk around reveals the problem. I had noticed Sunday that one of my front brake lines had beeen rubbing on the tire, and made a mental note to tie wrap it up before I chewed up a tire. Well guess what a Bogger is stronger than a SS brake line. (not really but you get the point)
Well, gives me another chance to send some work to Billy and the guys at Alliance HTW. And I count my blessings that it popped in the yard and not slowing down from 60 at the stop between here and the dump with both kids on board.
Check the small stuff guys....
