That there, Clark, is an aaarrr veeee

We can get that one rolling....plus tell me what you consider a "nice new one" Ie model and size....go here is you ahve questions

cumminsonan.com...

tell me what you like and I'll get you a price.....

You're going to cost me a lot of money with that kind of talk....

But since you asked, something in the ~5500 watt category. It doesn't need to be 220V.... unless the price is right.

Go check out the website he listed, I found the one I want, but at what cost......?

I'm assuming since your genset has a pull start is a portable genset installed in your trailer. Onan has come to the conclusion that the "portable" market is not profitable for them and they have stopped producing portable units. If you were to upgrade you would have to install a RV genset, which would require you to either A) install a gasoline fuel cell, or B) tie your genset into you LP system. Also this would require you to tie into a DC system as they are electric start only.

pull start doesn't necessarily mean portable, older RV gensets did have pull rope, either as primary or back up.

that they are making then so light is the cool part for me, they have a model for folding campers that weighs 107 lbs, now to find a place to stash it.

RV QG 2800 Remote Muffler, enough power for what I need, and pretty damn compact.

No, the one that's in there now is a portable. Homesite 6500 w/elect start.

I'd rather have an RV type, both for the reduced noise and for the 'built-in' aspect of it. The portable isn't really suited to running inside of the generator box.

Kevin: Just get a 2000W Honda. Weighs like 50lbs and is 59db wide open.

I'd love to, but it's just small enough that on real hot days when you need it most, the 2000w isn't enough to start the A/C

actually looking at a Yamaha EF2400iSHC ( quoted $1220 shipped )

reading the manf. spec the A/C it uses 1900w on high @100° ( Honda wouldn't be happy here )

while it won't necessarily be run like that, the extra would be nice to have, especially if I need to run the fridge too.

been looking at ETQ as well, the IN3500 can be had for $849, but I don't know anyone who has any experience with them, so am sort of leery.

both the above are 70-75 lbs. ea

Shawn, I've got a lot of experience with campers, trust me and run the fridge on propane. It cools better and uses very little gas. On electricity it eats a lot of amps that would be better spent on AC. Put a muffin fan in the fridge blowing on the inside fins and a 12volt fan outside the back of the fridge blowing up on the coils. We have a 10,000 kw generator and hardly ever flip the fridge to AC unless fueling.

The portable consumer line has been abandoned by Cummins....but here is a TON of inventory still floating out there.

That said...Shawn figure out what you want and let me know, I owe you a bunch,,,,and employee discounts are SWEEEEEEET
