Personally, I feel players should get paid and should make what they can off their signature and memorabilia. I don't buy the 'it's not fair to the other students' debate either. No other student has to go through the crap an athlete does, be that practice or paperwork to make sure things are being done by the book. Don't use the scholarship is their payment excuse either...because those are available to all students.

The other problem is only 12 D1 football programs turned a profit. Sure you get 100k in on Sat, but the history professor aint making 5MM a year either. You are an accountant and former college athlete , I dont have to explain the costs there.
All that said, yeah football players give a WHOLE lot more than they take. With the 4AM rack calls for conditioning, sure you get a "free education" in on of the select majors the AD will allow you to enroll and still make practice. Oh that college experience, yeah you are going to ned to forget that...you have 100 VERY CLOSE friends..but no one else.
OI could go on, but sound like I am whining..not my bag. Opened a lot of doors for me and continues to until this day. But its not all roses. Heck give them a grand a month or so and then if hey take a penny more ban them for life.
