The economy, now

Dylan, Sup! I've been using stuff I've had sitting around. Should get getting into fresh here directly.

@BigRed2, Same problem I have. I mean, I have experience (interned and worked skilled jobs during college, capable of telling a nozzle from my butt) but I am not experienced as someone who has been working for 5 years. I am competing with them.

But us new kids have to start somewhere. At this rate, no one in my generation will have any experience in 20 years!

I've seen rednecks in western Maryland before. We did a march from Harpers Ferry to Sharpsburg and the sight of 50 confederate soldiers marching along the road side brought them out in droves. Some beautiful country up there.

Western Maryland is awesome, it's basically just more of Virginia. plenty of good-ol buys there. Unfortnaturely the mid- and south-eastern bit of the state runs the show.

see...the thing is...and i had to learn this from Dave too...
is that maryland is the south. the mason dixon line is marylands northern border.
like someone else said it's the sweet tea line you gotta stay below.

that was me too, lol. Whenever coming back up, I stop in Fredericksburg for my last glass of real tea.

You do know that you can make your own sweet tea right?

boil 6 small bags of Lipton, 2 cups sugar, add more water, mix...enjoy!

Also, there has been a big re-migration back to mexico. another article i read talked about buses that uses to leave here empty and come back from mexico full are doing the opposite now. dunno what that does or doesnt do the job market, just something to think about.

Gosh I'd love to see that in pictures? Have any links?!!?

The economy still sucks

Coca Cola, my employer for the last 7 yrs - shutting down plants in Salisbury and Shelby. Looks like a long commute to Greensboro, until something local comes along.
All the articles about less ppl on unemployment - of course, their benefits only last for so long.

Being the first sgt. of the company from North Carolina (other company was Palmetto Brigade troops from South Carolina),I was the first North Carolinian in 140 years to cross the Potomac River at Pack Horse Ford in uniform. Man that water was nut-numbing cold. The 8 or 9 miles from the river to the Sharpesburg Battlefield Park was all steep uphill.A.P.Hill's troops dropped like flies from the heat and the forced march they did.

Just found out last week that more heads are going to roll at my work soon. This sucks.

I like four bags black, four bags green, one cup of sugar, and 3qts water.

Don't boil the tea bags... that'll make it bitter. Heat water and sugar, as soon as it starts to boil, add tea bags and turn the heat off... steep for 1 hour, then add more water (and/or ice) to fill your pitcher.

Boil water to make tea????? Dang boys get with the modern times and get you a tea maker.

Most used appliance at my house.

I tend to stay away from single-function appliances myself, but I'm sure they come in handy if you go through a lot of tea. At least, now, if it breaks you'll know how to get by in the meantime. ;)

3 big Luzianne tea bags, 1 gallon of water, 2.5 cups of Dixie Crystals sugar. Put in microwave on high for 12 minutes, put sugar in pitcher, pour hot tea into pitcher, mix. Add ice until full. Make sure to stir along the way, and give it a good stir when you are done, otherwise it will be watered down at the top and too sweet at the bottom.

If you put the sugar in the pitcher first, it will dissolve when you heat it. Cook the water to make a simple syrup, then take it off the heat and steep for an hour. Cooking the tea makes it bitter and means you have to add more sugar to make up for it. You want the water to be hot when you add the tea, but not boiling.
