While gas is cheap, I'm putting together what I always wanted. A k30 dually, I never could find a nice K30 in my price range, then came along my current C30 on the cheap. Of course a thirsty 454, great body, nice hips, and a well cared for platform to start with.

Plans include:
D60 swap up front
Crossover steering
400 trans and 205 (for now)

Future:
Maybe a cummins swap (pending 454 lifespan)

Current state

Good Luck with that! Hope you used to the older trucks. They do look good & do the job, at a reasonable price! If your satisfied after doing the changes, look for that Cummins swap!

Picked up 400 and 205 this weekend for the time being. Just to be able to have a usable 4x4.

Few more parts to pick up new calipers, pads, steering setup. Then we will be ready.

Very nice. I've always liked the 3+3 Chevys. I'll second the Cummins 6BT, but that big block will be nice while gas is down. Keep us posted.

From experience, I must say that a well setup 12 valve is amazing in a K30! I usually get around 18mpg with the best being 22mpg. That was on 40s with 4.56 gears too.

Getting all parts for 4x4 conversion together as of now. Chris at marsfab will be doing fab work on it.
As far as the cummins, I will start gathering parts for that come summer.

Not had to many bust on my end. It really only needs to hold up for about a year.

Getting ready to pull the donor 60 out.

Out and on the ground. Came out very easy. No shocks, ds, or brake lines to worry about.

Always fun working on the ground!

Well about 4 hrs and this bad boy is almost prepped for paint. Got lucky on this setup not a dent in the bumper.

I was going to beadblast and powder coat. But I felt like doing some work and feel extra tight this month. So it will get the rattle can treatment

Been busy as hell with vacation and kids.
I have managed to blow the trans and replaced it with one I had sitting around.

Also replaced heater core and redid the ac system. All went out at same time. Awesom timing.
Did manage to get some period correct Alcoas on it and some window tint.

Chris has some bigger projects he is working on. I told him no rush. Ive been using it to pull our camper this summer. So I cant really have it down until after aug 23 when we are back from the beach.
