Hey guys this is Patrick from the Clay County 4x4 Club. I'm trying a new promotion thing I call Offroad Promotor. I'm tryin to help the rock crawling image and offroading image by doing some organized events involving rocks, hills, and other high end courses and not just another bog hole. Well, with that said, we ( ORP and CC4x4 ) been working on another SETTC style event to be held at Hardrock. Its still one class for the big boys. We'll have a dedicated big boulder rock crawl built for this event as well. We are also working on figuring out a smaller more friendly version of a rock course that will be open for general play during the event. Should be a good time for all.
I have no idea as to what the prizes will be as I am working on getting committments from some local and national companies. If by chance a title sponsor comes along for this, well, you will see it in a big magazine for sure and maybe more.
Thanks for checking this out.
Here is more info on it.
THE HARDROCK CHALLENGE
November 7th and 8th 2009
This is put on by the Clay County 4x4 Club and Offroad Promotor
This is a SETTC style event meaning there is only one class. There is no D.O.T. tire requirement in this comp. We will have 8 courses, 4 on Saturday and 4 on Sunday.
Day 1:
Roller Coaster: A course filled with many accents and descents with sweeping fast turns. You will run 2 laps on this course.
Outback: This is a mid level MX course, all the jumps are table topped and offer high speed embanked turns. You get 1 lap on this one.
The Tug: This is all about brute power, you will pull a dump truck up hill as far as you can. You get one chance at this pull.
Rock Crawl: These will be the largest most extreme rocks you find anywhere. They offer ledges, holes, and offcamber stacked rocks in a course that is about 75 ft long.
Day 2:
Race Hills: This is a course that will get the day off right with some steep climbs and deceiving downhill sections. You get one lap to get it as fast as you can.
Race Rock: This will use the Race Hills in reverse direction and you will end up on a tough boulder section with a equally tough uphill climb to finish.
Race Course: This is the biggest MX course in Florida with some incredible accents that drop right into an offcamber left turn and onto an uphill off camber right turn. This is a Fast course that can give big air if you push it hard. All the Jumps are table topped. You get 2 laps.
The Hardrock: This is the final course, it includes hills, ledges, dirt moguls, drop offs, BIG rocks, and an insane climb to the finish line. This is the course that will test you and your machine.
Due to the weather that Florida is known for, rain is a possibility, event will operate rain or no rain. There is no water planned for the event that will exceed 1ft in depth. Rain can increase this depth although it will not exceed 2 ft. We will pump it if necessary. Neither Offroad Promotor, Clay County 4x4 Club or Hardrock Cycle Park LLC is responsible for any damages or injuries to you or the vehicles. A waiver will be required to be signed by all participants. You are required to be at the park on Friday Nov 6th for any paperwork required.

If you can get the Prizes and Payouts figured out I might be interested, I like the more of the "All Around" type competitions, get annoyed with all the dudes that are afraid to cross the lines between the different Off-Road types :shaking:

btw make a mud race one of the mini competitions, there is no reason why any of the rigs can't hit the mud

But to even consider it I def need to know what I am competing for, and what kind of exposure I will be getting since Event management/advertising is what I do as well - so if you were to guarantee me that my Jeep with my logo's with "x" size pic in "x" magazine/DVD/etc - I would also be interested . . . although I will admit usually if there are attractive females present to show off too I'm down for about whatever :smokin:

Try and get us some more info on that if you can, I think you'll get a lot more interest :driver:

take a look at this website. we did a event back in april called The SouthEast Tough Truck Challenge based after the TTC but instead of on the west coast, its on the east coast. heres the link: http://www.settc.net/ and as you can see we had quite a bit of sponsers. the event is going to be featured in the Oct issue of 4-wheeler magizine and trucks gone wild was there as well. the competition is just like the SETTC.toby with team Mega Titan was there all the way from california to compete. We also had guys from alabama, tennessee, and columbus, ga come. here are some links to 4--wheeler magizine covering the event: http://blogs.fourwheeler.com/6531075/editorials/settc-2009-action-photos/index.html, http://blogs.fourwheeler.com/6529571/editorials/settc/index.html. you can also enter at this site:http://forums.offroadpromotor.com/index.php?showtopic=42. I have no idea as to what the prizes will be as we aare working on getting committments from some local and national companies. If by chance a title sponsor comes along for this, well, you will see it in a big magazine for sure and maybe more

This is Joe, the guy operating this event. I have some sponsors watching this to see what the activity will be. As the entries start coming in so will the sponsors. This is a first year event so if you do these things you know its kinda difficult right now on first year events with no history. Our SETTC was at this location, I got my OCT issue today and the coverage is very nice, I'm sure you'll like it. The SETTC was also a first year event, the sponsors picked up when the entries picked up. We have no rules on logos on your jeep, as far as we are concerned get some big stickers on it and show em off. I'd really like to bring in some smokin chicks myself but it seems wives have issue with it :shaking: This is a family friendly event. But the courses will be difficult, its not ment to be easy. As far as mud, well, it is Florida, so mud is a real possibility. If by chance its muddy, it'll be much more difficult ( fun ). We're workin on a place to play for every other vehicle there. The park will be open and there are trails in the back that can be used for play as we will be keeping most everything up front. If you haven't taken a look at what the SETTC was then you need to. It was fun, and this will be as well. The only difference in this event and the SETTC is the format is a little different and we're tryin some new courses and schedule. Oh and theres no vote to get in. The safety rules are the same, this is to protect those who WILL roll, there will be rolls ( plural ) as these hills will surprise you. I got to drive them fast and let me tell you from personal experience, its a thrill ride man, not many places can you plant the gas pedal and hold it there for any length of time without bad things happen, here you can and its fun. I went down some at speed and basically drifted down the whole descent, good stuff. If you come down you won't be disappointed.
Joe

sounds fun

Oh yeah. Ocala has some nasty hills and mud in that national forest. Been stuck there to the point that I just wanted to leave my Jeep there and come back home

so it's in FL or GA?
