Just got back from seeing. WOW! that is one insanely good movie. The effects are seriously stunning and the story is too good. Really starts off this trilogy very well. I only wish that it had been shot in IMAX and not meant for 3d viewing, but some parts make it an incredible experience in 3d.
If you enjoy LOTR, then please go see this.....

I took my daughter to see it last night on our "daddy/daughter date" and had a great time. I was really impressed with the movie. We have both read the books and it stayed close enough to make it enjoyable to someone who has read it, and went off book enough to make it a good movie. We saw the 3d version and she had to look away a couple of times, and I felt my stomach lurch a few.

I took my daughter to see it today also. She said "Daddy isn't that your friend Dylan?":D

We both really enjoyed

THATS GREAT, for a purist Tolkein fan was it close?

I guess, never read the books. The cinematography was well done though.
