I was laid off last March when the company I work for decided to close the office I worked at in High Point. Then on March 31 they gave me an offer to stay with company it wasn't great but I took it.

Now I am stuck traveling the country in the last year I have been in 37 of the lower 48 states ( really sucks with two kids and wife if I was single it would be great) hell between tuesday and wednesday of this week I drove 1400 miles. It is a far cry from being a Electrical design engineer in a office but hell they didn't cut my pay and I have a steady pay check every week so no complaints here.

Good luck to everyone looking for a job hope something comes around soon!!!!

well i didn't get laid off but finished a job in miss. in sept. and there has been no work since. i work in petrolum pipeline construction so when obama took office he put a lot of restrictions back in place that bush had "relaxed" while he was in office.long story short oil feild work slowed.looking for something at home but not much construction going on.was offered one job on south side of charlotte for $15.00 hour but not that desperate yet.would like to be home every nite but i can make more in one week out west than in a month here at home,so going to hold out and see what happens.

Was unemployed for 10 months after working as an R&D Mechanical Engineer. Finally got a new job in October as a CNC technician making $20K less than I used to. In that time I started my own shop, and now between my 9-5 gig, and my shop, I'm working 60-75 hours a week.
