The Junk Drawer Challenge

We have four. Four separate junk drawers. Full of batteries, misc picture hangers, nails, my wife’s tools(all pink) and cords for chargers etc.

I hate it. Plus side is she is currently going through de-cluttering so hopefully we can morph down to one…
Definitely a good thing to do before you are inundated with kids stuff!

This is our main junk drawer (we have back up junk drawers )

We have two junk drawers in the kitchen plus 5 cloth cubbie baskets or whatever in the mudroom. The cubbies started out organized, but the longer we live in this house the more random they become. My wife is great about keeping the house clean, but when she gets a wild hair across her ass or people are coming over she does a big "sweep" and all the little odds and ends that me and the kids have left around get randomly stuffed in drawers and cubbies. That's were 90% of our junk drawer material comes from lol.
I had a 500 dollar carburetor go missing because of the "sweep"! Sold what it was attached to...to damn cheap only to find it 2 months latter in one of "those areas".
The damn thing was in a box in a place I thought surely was wife safe.

No shit, right after we got married, my wife threw away the title to my truck when it came in the mail. Apparently I left it on the counter a day too long without opening it and she threw it away. She saw that it was from first citizens and thought it was just another statement that I wasn't going to open...

Our kitchen in this "big ol' beautiful house" everyone loves but us is literally 10' by 10'.

In this kitchen my wife owns nearly every kitchen gadget known to civilized man. She is also an outstanding cook who often feeds large numbers from this 100 square feet. But no junk drawer is to be found.

Instead we have an entire hutch! 😎

Anything more hardware household related is stashed somewhere else between closets and out buildings.

Can you tell by the contents my wife is a career teacher.

We have 2, plus the drawer for utensils, which tends to be the catchall for kitchen stuff. I have gone through and organized/cleaned them multiple times but between the wife and kids, it doesnt stay that way.

For the batteries, we got some of those little containers that they stand up in, and put it on top of the fridge. That is also where all the flashlights are kept. And anything else that I prefer the kids dont play with/kill and leave laying somewhere.

I got a wild hair about a month back and completely went through our junk drawers and threw most of it out. I think we would have been a contender had I not done that.

Unless you did it like 5 minutes ago, I bet at least one of them is already junked again lol.
