For lack of a better way to post this at this time,

if he was bored, lonely, just wanted to be noisy, sometimes when his old buddy was around they would hold a concert ( The Yodel and Howl tour ) very vocal, very animated, Huskies (mix in this case ) are really awesome dogs

I had to put him down this morning, 14.5yrs old, he just couldn't move any more and I couldn't bear to see him suffer.

Found laying on a newspaper in a friends driveway in 2001, he was named Metro ( sounds better than Obituary for a dog name ) he's traveled across the country, been camping and to the beach with us ( seems dogs do get seasick on ferry rides, yuck ! ) He's been a great friend and companion, never once aggressive toward our daughter growing up ( he was 3 when she was born) and even tolerated "The Cat"

Metro, we're gonna miss you buddy !

Ruh-Ro, Go find Otis !!!

Sorry to hear this. It's never easy losing a family member. I went 10 yrs without a k9 due to that. Gonna be a dark time when my current ones go for sure!

I feel your pain, RIP Metro. We were in the same situation over the past few yrs, had to put Casey down in 2012 at almost 15 yrs old, then Bandit last year at 17 yrs old. In March we rescued 8 month old Zoey and last weekend 7 week old Henry. The cycle of life...

this may sound crass, When we lost Otis in 2010, is was sudden and unexpected, while it sucked, it was easier to deal with.

the spiral of losing Metro slow and agonizing sucked. we watched him go, was nothing we could really do, he wasn't in any real pain, just moving slower and slower.

Where do you make the call ?

in all honesty, I wished he would have passed while we were at work, or overnight. I HATED making the decision this AM, knowing there wasn't anything more that could be done. his back legs just couldn't do it anymore.

The wife and I send our condolences and feel you pain, still mourning Brandy here. Do you have more pics of him? We'd love to see them when/if you might post some. Can't view the video.

It's always a tough call, but when the animals life is more pain/struggle/agony then not, that's when you gotta make the call. It's merciful.

Sorry for your loss, we put our Savannah down 4 years ago at 11 yrs old and I still miss her. She got to where she couldn't come up the stairs anymore due to cancer. There are a bunch of pups at the shelters that would love to take his place.(although I know you can't truly replace) That always makes me feel better to know we gave another one a better home.

Otis and his Kong, if he was outside he had the kong, or was dropping it at your feet to throw it....., many times I would be under a vehicle and he would drop the Kong on me, usually in uncomfortable places.
