Chapter 1 and 2...............The Shadetree vs the 22R ballancer bolt
( 1 the long persuader and the 3/8" socket. 2; the 1/2-3/8" reducer )

......and the carnage .......the bolt was bathed in the blood of the Kroil and left to die, both times the shadetree was sure the bolt broke loose w the snap and the sound..........but alas it was his inferior weapons that failed him each battle and his rejoicing quickly ended.....

Turn the crank so cylinder 1 is at the bottom of it's travel. Remove spark plug and insert about 6" of nylon rope into the spark plug hole. Turn crank until the piston contacts the rope and cant move anymore. Put long @$$ cheater bar on the ratchet and give it a couple good tugs (maybe have to put your feet on the tire and bounce your weight on it).

@mommucked
You're trick only works on a 22R.

You sir have a 22R....E.

There's your problem. :flipoff2:

Chapter 3 ................ The clan of Joe brings more powerful weapons to the battle while the losses of the socket and adapter are mourned.......they were old friends who fought bravely in what would be their last fight.
Your doing it the hard way, socket on breaker bar, lay bar against frame, bump ignition , whala, your done.

There were more than several attempts w the starter, it's force was used in the first 5- 7 attacks.....first few were snug up to the frame, just a clank each time the starter was unleashed........then several blows w the breaker backed off about 8" before the starter spun and the breaker swung and struck the mighty frame w a loud blow and ring...........then 90* and more to almost 180* w a few more solid blows to the frame that all stopped the starter like a stone............and still the bolt held tight..............then the 4' "persuader" joined w the breaker and the muscle of the mighty shadetree who quickly destroyed the 3/8 socket and then the 1/2-3/8"s adapter....they will always be remembered for their hard work during many years of faithful service to the shadetrees cause. ...helpless w the loss of the all the 19mms a 1/2" socket was quickly brought to the battle by an ally from the west, it fought bravely but was killed in the fierce fight.

The shadetree then traveled far to the kingdom of the the advance auto and returned soon w a massive 1/2" impact socket.
the impact socket was strong and held the bolt tightly as the persuader wrought down a hellstorm of strength and mighty blows that almost rendered the bolt useless..... but the bolt will not be broken..........the battle will continue at dawn or after the shadetree returns from the hellish battle that is his first duty to protect his family and castle ............the fight will likely continue sometime in the afternoon............

Keep written....this is fun

Chapter 4 the shadetree contemplates new strategies

There are rumors of a great, fiery beast called the propane torch that lives in a cave in the deep forest behind the castle. If it can be found and coaxed into joining w the shadetree clan it may be the weapon that burns the pulley down and removes the bolt forever. Another bolt and pulley are already waiting to fill the void once the stubborn old sunofabitch bolt is banished or dies in the flames of the propane. The seal and oil pump had better watch their backs as there are replacements for them too, younger and stronger..................before that quest is begun, the AC condenser may be wrenched from his homeland after the bumper and grill are defeated. Then the shadetrees brother, sir Travis of Moncure may bring his massive, wristbreaking electric impact weapon to bear on the vulnerable bolt............either way the bolts days of reign are soon to be over.

whats really a bitch is having the engine out on the stand and trying to
get them damn things out. sometimes the impact gun will get em but
twice iv'e had to lay em on the concrete driveway on the side and hold
it down with the backhoe stabilizer. then get with it with heat and 3/4 drive.

Unless electric impact weapon is of the 3/4" variety, it will likely expel less force than shadetree and his persuader.

Sub'd for the wrath that shall soon ensue.

Shall we all be disappointed with saddened hearts when the battle is won and the story is no more?...

I can't decide if this sounds like Shakespeare or Monty Python. Either way I enjoy reading it. Carry on good sir.

chapter 5 ................reflections on the past ( the good ole days of yore) and the future

The shadetree is no stranger to these battles and dealing w the stubborn old balancer bolts, having dealt w them many times over many seasons................. and once extracted and washed of their filth only a pea of magic grease and never any locking substances were smeared on their threads just before banishing them back into their homelands w a force that was strong and steady............and FOREVER......................but if "forever" was ever reached ....................and the bolts needed to be freed again for any reason the grease allowed a peaceful removal w/o the senseless carnage of the battles of the seized bolt..........the clash of steel and flesh, the hammer and fulcrums, the crying, the blood, the loss of life and time spent uselessly until the siege is over ...........the sweat, spit and crushed, empty cans of ale on the ground everywhere................and the cursing, the terrible awful cursing that lasts until the day turns into night.........................the siege of this bolt will be known far and wide when the battle is over and the memories of this battle will forever be remembered.............

I say pour pitch over the castle "firewall" ..... Light an arrow, aim steady and true.... Then release hellfire and fury upon said kingdom of 22re.......

....the castle of 22R is already covered in pitch from just below the lofty valve cover down to the depths of the slimy stinking oil pan and from just behind the timing cover to the transmission and beyond..............a careless match or wind on a campfire anywhere near the castle could set the oil and filth ablaze. The front of the castle has been washed and scrubbed again and again in the anticipation of removing all the ramparts of the AC compressor, the power steering/alternator and all the other jibbery style oinkery what makes no sense a'tall that must be dealt with before the secrets deep inside the timing cover are revealed............... the chain, gears, mighty tensioner and guides.............the cover itself will need to be studied carefully and it's working relations w the oil and water pump must be determined good or bad.................. not just relied on to be pure and strong enough to go on serving it's purpose..........................the saga continues...........
