I was five years old. And there were ZERO cattle rustlers on Maplewood Drive!

Found these cleaning out my mom's attic. Used to be a matched set, but I wore one of the Halco pistols out (like the one in the holster), and got the black Fanner 50 for my 5th birthday. These used the roll caps...remember going to Macks (five and dime) almost every Saturday for another pack.

Damn, I'm old.

For scale...that's a 5" barrel. I gotta find of pic of me wearing them. Can't quite wear the holster now...measures about 25" to the middle hole.

roll caps, can you even get those 'explosive devices' anymore ?
i got kicked out of summer school one year because i had "snap pops" the lil paper wrapped poppers on my person. expelled for "possession of pyrotechnic devices" 1986 i think

Who remembers the "blue light special" ? :bounce2: before the malls/walmarts K-mart was the shit.
I do. As a matter of fact I still have a pair of flip flops I bought on special back in the summer of 1983. I stopped at K-mart on the way to Myrtle beach because I needed some footware .

But I sure don't miss the "mail a check and wait 6 to 8 weeks for delivery" days. I'll take Prime any day.

The things kids miss out on nowadays....After school, from about 10 years old...I'd head out every afternoon with the pellet gun, later a .22...the woods across US-1 from our house (if you know Sanford, it's the area where Riverbirch shopping center is now) ought to be an EPA superfund site now, with all the pounds of lead we sent flying in there. Ride bikes all over tarnation with a pellet gun or 22 slung across your back. Try that now.

there are still places in MURICA where you can do that....

montana and colorado (the non hippie parts)

Those are cool.I had an old stomper 4x4 track back in the day,my dad got pissed cause it was all over my bedroom floor and bagged it up and threw it away.asshole.

Funny how looking thru the attic, my childhood toys reflected my future....

Most of the toys saved up there:

Guns (check)
Firetrucks (check)
Tractors (check)
Army trucks (check) [never in service, but do play with OD iron]
Jeeps (check) [probably 20 of them, at least]

Ebay, here I come...

I have that track in the barn loft....loved that thing as a kid.

I used to build model cars & my Mom got pissed at me, threw away all of the broken (unbuilt) models I was saving. Sad panda.
