They do it Different up North.

I have been to his place in Tully.The Views are incredible up there.It's all Farm Land,so Snow as far as you can see dotted with Red barns.
 
That's right in the stomping grounds of my youth. Grew up nearby and went to college even closer. Beautiful snow covered scenery with rolling hills and valleys, until of course all that snow turns brown, or if you get up the road to Syracuse...bleh. There's 3 seasons up there: snow, rain, and mud.
 
Theres a ton of jeeps and then one ranger, wow. I see that and think of how cold it would be, but at least you wouldn't overheat.

Wrong, you can actually overheat quite easily. Snow and ice can pack up over the radiator, leaving no airflow, and can make the temps go up very quickly.
